QUELANT - K (Low pH)
1-0-25 & L-Amino Acids

QUELANT®-K Low pH is a foliar applied amino acid based potassium supplement. It contains free L-amino acids which increase the absorption of the potassium and other nutritional elements by the plant.

Applications

Use QUELANT®-K Low pH throughout the growing season to increase potassium levels in turfgrass and other plants. Regular applications of QUELANT®-K Low pH improve stress tolerance from heat, drought, cold, traffic, disease, and other adverse conditions.

Rate

1.5 - 2.0 fl. oz. per 1000 sq. ft. every 15-20 days. During summer and fall, increase application frequency to improve stress tolerance and enhance synthesis of carbohydrates and proteins.

Observations

Turfgrass requires potassium in relatively large amounts, second only to nitrogen. Potassium is not a constituent of living cells but is essential in turfgrass growth and development. It plays an important role in :

bullet

carbohydrate synthesis and translocation

bullet

amino acid and protein synthesis

bullet

catalytic reactions including nitrate reduction

bullet

regulating transpiration

bullet

controlling the uptake rate of certain nutrients, and

bullet

regulating respiration.

Potassium may be present in large quantities in soils, but very small amounts are in the available form (K+). Potassium is held strongly by clay particles in fine textured soils and easily lost by leaching on sandy soils (greens). QUELANT®-K Low pH provides the essential L-amino acids necessary to enhance potassium absorption by the plant regardless of adverse soil conditions.

QUELANT®-K Low pH is environmentally safe and non-phytotoxic due to its low salt index, low pH, and low application rate. It is tank mix compatible with normally used agrochemical products, including products containing calcium or magnesium. Good management practices suggest conducting a standard jar test prior to tank mixing. In case of contact with skin or eyes, wash immediately with water.
